Limp Bizkit Talks “Real” Lineup As Family Values Tour Kicks Off

The sequel to one of the highest grossing package tours of 1998 gets underway Tuesday night when Limp Bizkit, DMX, Filter, the Crystal Method, and Staind all converge upon Pittsburgh’s Civic Arena for the first show of the Family Values ’99 Tour.

Last year’s Family Values featured Korn in the headlining spot, and the ’99 model finds Limp Bizkit assuming control of the steering wheel. Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst talked with MTV News recently about the tour and some of the artists he selected for the second Family Values outing.

“To be on the Family Values tour and going out with it, it’s unbelievable,” Durst said. “Filter, their new record is unbelievable. It’s a classic record. You gotta let it grow on you. But with DMX, Method Man and Redman, Primus, Staind, and System Of A Down? Dude.”

“It’s really real,” he added. “It’s a real tour. It’s really exciting and there’s lots of raw energy
there, and I think it’s a tour I put together for the fans and the fans only. I didn’t put it together for the hype or the media or go try to pull the artists that are hot. I just want it to be the [one] tour where you’re like, ‘Yeah!’” [RealVideo]
