Sheryl Crow Bows Out Of Lilith

Sheryl Crow, who's been holed up in a New York studio working on her new album, has bowed out of the five Lilith Fair dates she was scheduled to play later this month.

Crow says that between handling both performing and producing duties on the new record, which is due out in the fall, and touring on her own and with the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, that she's been going nonstop for two years and needs a little time off for herself.

Crow has also canceled her appearance slated for this Wednesday in New York with Wyclef Jean, Pras and Joan Osborne to announce the winners of the first John Lennon songwriting contest (see "Foo Fighters, Ani DiFranco, Busta Rhymes, The Fugees To Judge Songwriting Contest" ).

No word yet on a replacement for Crow on the Lilith Festival, which launches June 19 in Portland, Oregon.
