Sheryl Crow Gets "Nasty" With Prince On The Artist's Next LP

The Artist is ready to drop his latest effort "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic." It'll be his first release from Arista Records, which signed him up in August.

The album, which The Artist is producing under his original name of Prince, features guest appearances from Gwen Stefani, Eve, Chuck D, Ani DiFranco, and Sheryl Crow, who teamed up with the Purple One one night during Lilith Fair for a funky version of her hit "Everyday Is A Winding Road."

Backstage at the U.S. NetAid concert, Crow hinted about the nature of her spicy collaboration with Prince to MTV News' John Norris.

"I'm kinda singin' a nasty lyric," Crow told Norris. "I didn't really think about it until I got home, and when I played it back to myself, I went, 'My parents are going to be so bummed out!'"

When Norris asked if we could expect "Darling Nikki, Part 2," Crow replied, "No,

it's not quite that nasty. Although I love that song." [RealVideo]

Folks can check out the results when "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" hits stores on November 9. A two-month U.S. tour will follow.

There'll be more new music from Sheryl available one week earlier, on November 2, when "King Of The Hill: Music From And Inspired By The TV Series" is released. Alongside the Crow track "Straight To The Moon" [RealAudio] will be exclusive songs by Barenaked Ladies, Tonic, Old 97's, and Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, who teams up with no less than Willie Nelson on "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground."
