Milwaukee Metalfest Spawns Metal Mania Series

After conquering beer-country, the folks behind the Milwaukee Metalfest are taking their show on the road.

Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Asbury Park, New Jersey will be among the first cities to fall prey to the Metal Mania Series, a string of shows put together by Jack Koshick, the man behind the Milwaukee Metalfest. Milwaukee will be on tap as well, with the Metalfest set to return to that city on July 28 and 29 on 2000.

Koshick already has plans for November to Dismember in San Antonio on November 5 and 6, March Metal Meltdown II in Asbury Park on March 31 and April 1, and Mayhem in May in Los Angeles in May of 2000. He also hopes to stage similar events in other cities, and has designs on Florida for future shows.

Koshick plans to bring at least 100 bands to each of stop on the Metal Mania Series, and is lining up 124 acts for next year's Milwaukee Metalfest. He also says that each show will include professional wrestling exhibitions and will be hosted by adult

film star Jasmin St. Claire.

This year's 13th annual Metalfest boasted sets from the Misfits, Cradle Of Filth, Neurosis, T.S.O.L., Gwar, Meshuggah, Earth Crisis, Testament, Morbid Angel, Candiria, Napalm Death, and some 150 acts over the course of two days.
