R&B singers Deborah Cox and Kelly Price and rappers Mase and Warren G are just a few of the artists who have volunteered to help out the new National Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative.
Sponsored by the Magic Johnson Foundation, the campaign will launch on Saturday, April 24 during a special charity gala and fashion show to be held at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Cox, Mase, Warren G, and Chante Moore are among those who have agreed to take a stroll on the catwalk and showcase the latest designs by several prominent African-American designers, including Dion Scott, Gigi Hunter, and singer Price.
As we previously reported (see "Kelly Price Branches Out Into Fashion"), Price has just signed a deal to launch two of her own clothes lines, both of which are expected to be in stores by the end of the year.
The three-year campaign for the Cancer Awareness Initiative includes such goals
as increasing the number of minority women who have have mammograms annually and informing minority women about their elevated risk of breast cancer.
