Crows Counted Out in Toronto and Buffalo

July 24 [14:00 EDT] — Counting Crows were supposed to be back performing in Toronto last night after canceling two appearances at the Great Woods Center in Massachusetts July 20 and 21, but it appears that frontman’s Adam Duritz vocal chords are not yet ready for the road. Opening acts the Wallflowers and That Dog went at it alone Wednesday night and will do so again Thursday in Buffalo. That show is scheduled for the Darien Center.

According to Counting Crow’s management, however, Duritz is improving daily and it will be business as usual when the band hits Camden, NJ, on Saturday (July 26). Spokesperson Steve Jensen says they hope to make up the dates when their tour finishes in October.

In Toronto, Universal Concerts offered a free general admission ticket to a local Live concert to people who opted for the reduced bill. The Wallflowers, led by Jakob Dylan and joined by Counting Crows keyboardist Charlie Gillingham for much the 100-minute plus set, put in an acclaimed
performance before 6,000 receptive fans.
