Former Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell and his wife, Alice In Chains manager Susan Silver, have just become the proud parents of a baby daughter, the couple's first child.
A spokesperson for Cornell told MTV News that the baby girl, Lillian Jean Cornell, was born in Seattle on June 28, and weighed in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces.
Cornell is said to be ecstatic about the birth of Lillian, and will likely be spending the next few months as a house dad to the child.
The singer has kept a relatively low profile since wrapping a tour in support of his first solo LP, "Euphoria Morning," in December (see "Chris Cornell On Playing Soundgarden Songs At Solo Gigs").
Cornell did contribute a song to the recent "Mission: Impossible 2" soundtrack, titled "Mission 2000."
