Jamie Foxx has nabbed the movie role vacated by artist and Bad Boy Records mogul Sean “Puffy” Combs in the Oliver Stone football picture dubbed “Any Given Sunday” a.k.a. “The League.”
Foxx, who has his own show on the WB network, will play the part of back-up quarterback Willie Beaman, which Combs abandoned last month due to scheduling conflicts.
Foxx will star opposite Al Pacino, the team coach, Cameron Diaz, the team owner, and Dennis Quaid, the star quarterback Foxx replaces after Quaid gets injured.
The film is expected to start shooting in January and will be in theaters in 1999 via Warner Bros.
