The WOMAD organization was co-founded by Peter Gabriel and Bob Hooton in 1980, with the goal of bringing multi-national artists together for a series of concerts across the world.

WOMAD organizes over a dozen concerts and

festivals every year, with events planned for this year in South Africa, Spain, Germany, Sicily, Singapore, Croatia, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, the Canary Islands, and the U.K.
