Strummer Scores Movie About Coleridge

July 29 [12:00 EDT] -- The Clash's Joe Strummer will be scoring a movie about the life of English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

Billboard Bulletin reports that the film's Director is Julien Temple, best known for rock flicks like "The Great Rock And Roll Swindle" and "Absolute Beginners."

Temple, says Billboard, told the U.K. press that the opium-addicted Coleridge, who lived from 1772 to 1834 and authored such works as the "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," "was the first junkie. He was the original Keith Richards, the perfect subject for a movie."
