What’s next? Swingapalooza?
As records from Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, the Brian Setzer Orchestra and Bid Bad Voodoo Daddy continue to lay siege on the upper realms of the Album charts, a new compilation out next week attempts to capitalize on the booming, if slightly misnomered, revival in swing music.
“Swing This Baby!” collects 15 tracks from a variety of bands that have become prominent players in the genre-fickle music world, including previously released tracks from the Brian Setzer Orchestra, Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, Royal Crown Revue and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
Other new pop swing artists coming out for the “Swing” album include Crescent City Maulers, the New Morty Show, Swingerhead and Blue Plate Special. Boasting itself as “the first modern compilation of modern swing bands,” the “Swing This Baby!” album is due out on August 11.
