Dupri Goes Gold With Help Of Mariah, Mase, Usher, Others

It looks like producer-turned-performer Jermaine Dupri isn't doing too badly for himself with his first step into his career as a recording artist. Dupri's debut single, "The Party Continues" (which features Da Brat), recently achieved gold sales status from the Recording Industry Association of America.

Da Brat isn't the only big name to turn up on Dupri's album, "Life In 1472," as Jay-Z, Nas, Too Short, Usher, Slick Rick, Mase, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Lil' Kim and (oh yeah) Mariah Carey also appear on the album.

"It's kind of like a movie," Dupri told our pals in the MTV Radio Network about the star-studded offering. "That's basically how 'Life In 1472' is... like a movie, a day in the life of Jermaine Dupri."

Now, those days are spent in a studio putting the finishing touches on the album, as well as a remix of Ol' Skool's hit "Am I Dreaming."
