Jan. 29 [12:00 EST] -- If you weren't one of the folks lucky enough to grab a ticket to the Cardigans' sold out February 5 show in New York City, you can still catch the band's lilting Swedish pop via the Internet.
LiveConcerts.com will carry a live cybercast of the band's show at New York's Tramps next Wednesday at 9 p.m. (Eastern time).
The Cardigans vaulted into the American pop consciousness with their contribution to the "Romeo and Juliet" soundtrack (currently at number three on the Billboard album chart), and the high-gloss video for "Lovefool," which is currently residing in MTV's Buzz Bin.
While the band is just now gaining significant exposure in the U.S. with their "First Band on the Moon," the album is actually the third release from the quintet, who formed in Jonkoping, Sweden in 1992. Since then, they have carved out a smooth jazz/pop sound that earned them a strong foothold in the indie pop universe.
The cybercast from Tramps is just one of may U.S. dates the Cardigans are playing in the near future. Here's a complete, albeit brief, list of their itinerary:
