June 2 [7:55 EDT] -- Rain reportedly hampered Memphis police in their continuing search for singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley over the weekend.
On Saturday, Memphis Police Lieutenant Brenda Maples told the Associated Press that the search was being delayed by heavy rains in the area.
The 30-year-old Buckley has been missing since Thursday night, when he waded into the city's downtown harbor and disappeared. Buckley was in Memphis to begin recording the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut, 1994's "Grace"
A friend of Buckley's told police that he and the singer were relaxing at the harbor while listening to music when Buckley waded into the water. A boat then passed nearby, and Buckley's friend turned to move a portable stereo out of the boat's wake on the shoreline. When he turned back around, Buckley was gone.
Jeff Buckley's father Tim, also an acclaimed singer/songwriter, died of a drug overdose in 1975.
