Beth Orton and Katell Keineg will be among the artists performing at a tribute to Jeff Buckley which will place on what would have been the late singer's 32nd birthday, Wednesday, November 17.The event will be held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation Center For The Arts in New York City, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. (ET). Also performing at the benefit will be Black Beetle, whose membership includes Michael Tighe and Parker Kindred, both former members of Buckley's backing band. Two other former musicians who played with Buckley, Daniel Harnett and Sandy Bell, will perform at the show as well. For ticket information, click over to www.jeffbuckley.com. That show won't be the only event to celebrate Buckley's life: also on November 17, Amazon.com will be hosting a series of charity auctions organized by The Estate of Jeff Buckley. On the auction block will be Buckley's sound system, among
other items. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Road Recovery, an organization that promotes the benefits of substance-free living.Buckley drowned in Memphis Harbor on May 29, 1997; days later, his body was discovered in the Mississippi River at the foot of Memphis' Beale Street (see "Jeff Buckley Found Drowned In Memphis").
