Innovative electronic musician BT has been added to the lineup for the massive New Year's Eve dance-music event Together As One, which is slated to take place at the Los Angeles Coliseum and Sports Arena.
Southern Californian BT (born Brian Transeau), who has sold more than 100,000 copies of his latest album, Movement in Still Life, joins Armand van Helden, Kool Keith, Junior Sanchez, Sandra Collins, DJ Dan, Aphrodite and DJ Sneak, among many others, on the star-studded bill, which includes techno, house, trance, hip-hop and drum'n'bass artists.
The producer recently wrapped a headlining stint on the Jensenergy Tour with Hooverphonic earlier this month, and has just issued "Smartbomb" as the third single from Still Life, which is his third album. BT has established a reputation as one of electronic music's most exciting live performers.
Organizers of Together As One previously told the Los Angeles Times that BT was among the "A-level"
electronic-music acts they were hoping to book, along with artists such as Moby and Fatboy Slim.
Moby, however, is already committed to a New Year's Eve gig at the Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, while Fatboy's spokesperson at Astralwerks Records indicated that he and his wife are expecting their first child soon, and they don't expect him to be traveling at the time of the event.
Together As One is being jointly produced by a pair of Los Angeles-based companies, Insomniac Events and Cool World, along with San Francisco's Go Ventures.
Promoters are hoping to draw more than 60,000 revelers to the party, which would make it the largest dance event ever held in the United States, surpassing the 40,000 who came out for Nocturnal Wonderland, which was held September 2 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California, the same site as the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
