Bobby Brown Misses New Edition Concert

Feb. 10 [18:00 EST] -- Singer Bobby Brown missed another date on the troubled New Edition tour this past weekend when he failed to show up for a Saturday-night concert at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, a district of greater Los Angeles.

"Flu" was the official reason given.

Brown missed a flight from Florida two weeks ago, and was absent for New Edition's appearance on the American Music Awards.

Compounding New Edition's problems on Saturday was a spasm of chest pains suffered during the show by the group's manager, Brooke Payne. Payne's nephew, Ronnie DeVoe, left the stage early to accompany him to the hospital.

A group spokesman says Payne did not suffer a heart attack, and is currently resting at home.
