May 21 [10:00 EST] -- Janet Jackson and Brandy are back doing what they do best.
Jackson is working on her first album of original material since 1993's "Janet," and expects it to arrive in stores on September 23, according to sources at her record label. Jackson is joined in the studio by producer gurus Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who have worked with Janet for years.
Meanwhile, Brandy is taking up two recording studios in both New York and Los Angeles, and is working on what she hopes will be a fall release. The singer/actress is teaming with producers Sean "Puffy" Combs, Babyface, David Foster, and Keith Crouch. The busy Brandy is also shooting the ABC-TV movie "Cinderella," to air at the end of the year.
