Big Punisher And Fat Joe Arrested For Parade Assault, Joe Teams Up With Brandy

Extra large rappers Fat Joe and Big Punisher are now in equally sizable trouble with the law, stemming from an incident that occurred at the Puerto Rican Day Parade on June 14 in New York City.

On Tuesday, Fat Joe (who was booked under his given name of Joe Cartagena) was arrested by New York police on an open robbery and assault charge, and later that evening Big Pun (born Christopher Rios) turned himself in to local authorities.

According to the police report, Pun and Joe hit an unnamed male victim with a baseball bat and then stole a gold chain from him while the rappers shared a float at the PR Day Parade.

No details yet on what started the altercation, but both Big Pun and Fat Joe were released on their own recognizance after being charged with second degree robbery and assault. Police officials indicated that the arrests did not come sooner, because they had been waiting until Joe and Pun completed their recent tour together.

Joe is keeping himself busy outside the big house these days with a new movie, a new record, and some studio dates with Brandy.

The rapper recently finished shooting a film with West Coast representative Mack 10 and now Joe is hitting stores with his own album, "Don Cartegena," which arrived last week.

Somehow, Joe also found the time to team up with R&B sweetheart Brandy. Fat Joe and Big Pun both turn up on a remix of Brandy's "Sittin' On Top of the World," which originally featured Mase.

The single is already finding a home at select radio stations, but there's no word yet on whether or not there will be a video for the song.
