September 23 [10:00 EDT] -- Boyz II Men are going global to spread the word on Tuesday's release of "Evolution," their first new album in almost three years.
BIIM embarked on a 48-hour transcontinental in-store tour Sunday night that will see the group visit three cities across two continents in two days.
The group signed autographs and albums at midnight at London's HMV store, and (as we reported last week) will now head to New York for another midnight signing session Monday night before hitting Tower Records in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The Boyz will also be gracing the TV talk show circuit over the next two weeks, with chats planned with Oprah, Dave, Jay, Rosie, and Keenan.
The push for increased visibility may not be all that necessary: the group's first single from "Evolution," the song "4 Seasons Of Loneliness," [1.2MB QuickTime] debuted at number two on the "Billboard" singles chart. The track, "Billboard's"
Hot Shot Debut of the week, was unable to oust Mariah Carey's "Honey" from the top slot, which is now enjoying its third week at number one.
