Bowie Counting Down "Hours" Until Release Of Next Album

Rock and roll chameleon David Bowie has finally completed work on his new solo album, entitled "hours..." and due out on October 5.

Bowie collaborated on the record with one of his old Tin Machine bandmates, guitarist Reeves Gabrels, who played on the Thin White Duke's last effort, 1997's "Earthling." Gabrels also earned a recent credit with Public Enemy by providing guitarwork for the rap group's "He Got Game" single.

Others musicians helping out on "hours..." include another "Earthling" alum, bassist and keyboardist Mark Plati, as well as drummer Mike Levesque of the Dave Navarro Band.

New cuts on the album include "The Dreamers," "Thursday's Child," "Survive," and "What's Really Happening," a song co-written by the winner of an online competition selected by Bowie (see "Bowie Chooses Winner Of Songwriting Contest").
