The elaborate event, staged by the Carlsberg-Tetley brewing company, is said to portray the history of music over the last 40 years with the confirmed participation of Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Seal, kd lang and Steve Winwood. A host of others are still to be announced. Names being bandied about by various sources include Paul McCartney, George Michael, Elton John, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker, Erykah Badu and The Who (who unfortunately are also booked to play Florida that day).

It's anticipated the Wembley show will feature a number of performers contributing one or two songs apiece with much interaction between the artists and elaborate staging
