Blues Traveler Names New Bassist

Blues Traveler has hired Tad Kinchla as its new bassist, replacing the late Bobby Sheehan, who died in August of an accidental drug overdose.

Kinchla is the younger brother of guitarist Chan Kinchla, who says in a statement, “As painful as the situation has been for us, having the opportunity to play with a great musician and my brother makes me excited about the future.”

Blues Traveler will return to the studio sometime next year to record the group’s follow-up to 1997′s “Straight On Till Morning.”
