Mary J. Blige Finds A Better Way On New Single

August 7 [10:00 EDT] -- Even if you don't catch Mary J. Blige on this summer's Superfest Tour, chances are you'll hear her latest single, "Everything," [1.2MB QuickTime] before too long.

The track is a loose reprise of an old Stylistics hit, "You Are Everything," with some new lyrics provided by producer Jimmy Jam.

"I like the lyrics because, right now, it symbolizes how I feel about life, about the gift of life, about just making a better way instead of always being down," Blige told MTV News. "You could be down forever. [1.3MB QuickTime] That's the whole thing. If you can sing to somebody and let them know that this is your everything. It could be your child, it could be your mother. Right now my family and God is everything to me."
