Dude, check this out...
When the Dave Matthews Band's summer tour hits Soldier Field in Chicago on June 30, the group will be joined by soul legend Al Green for a duet that will be captured by an IMAX film crew.
The performance will then work its way into an IMAX feature titled "All Access" that will also boast appearances by Kid Rock, Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas, Phish's Trey Anastasio with B.B. King and The Roots, Moby, Macy Gray, and George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars with Mary J. Blige (see "Kid Rock, Mary J. Blige To Appear In IMAX Film").
As is the IMAX way, the film will bring these artists to an eight-story high screen and pump their performances through theaters in surround sound.
The film, the work of director Martyn Atkins, will debut early next year in conjunction with the 2001 Grammy Awards. The film will then play IMAX theaters across the U.S.
The Rolling Stones
were the first major act to be captured in IMAX in the 1991 feature "At The Max" which featured footage from the band's 1990 world tour.
