May 7 [17:15 EST] -- On Wednesday, a federal district court judge in New Jersey granted an injunction filed by Marilyn Manson and his lawyer that gives the band the right to perform at the Meadowlands as part of Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest festival.
The Newark, New Jersey judge ruled that the Meadowlands Arena can't interfere with the group's contract or ticket sales, clearing the way for the band to perform at the stadium on June 15.
The ruling comes after Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, and New Jersey concert promoters Delsner-Slater filed a lawsuit against the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Center, which oversees the Meadowlands. The venue had refused to put tickets for the New Jersey Ozzfest date on sale unless Manson and his band were removed from the bill, which will also include Type O Negative, Pantera, and Fear Factory. There is no word yet on when the Meadowlands will finally put the Ozzfest tickets on sale.
Manson's celebration may be brief, as the Sports and Exhibition
Center is expected to appeal the decision.
