Salt-n-Pepa, Sheryl Crow, Biv 10 Pee Wees Contribute To Martin Luther King Video, Soundtrack

Salt-n-Pepa, Montell Jordan, Brian McKnight and Sheryl Crow are among the artists that have lent their support (and talent) to the soundtrack to “Our Friend, Martin,” an animated home video based on the life and works of slain civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King.

Other artists offering up some previously-released tracks for the project include Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross, while the first single from the record will be a new tune, “Feelin’ It,” from Antuan and Ray Ray of the Biv 10 Pee Wees.

The Pee Wees are a new collective of rappers and singers between the ages of 7 to 14 who were assembled into a group by former New Edition and Bell Biv Devoe vocalist Michael Bivins.

The voices of such Hollywood luminaries as Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta are featured in the hour-long video, which tells the tale of a group of sixth-graders who travel back in time to meet Dr. King.

Both the home video and soundtrack for “Our Friend Martin”
are due out on January 12.
