Notorious B.I.G., Chemical Brothers Ride The Charts

April 17 [7:55 EST] -- Late rapper The Notorious B.I.G. will continue his hold on the top of the "Billboard" album chart when next week's issue hits the streets.

Biggie's album "Life After Death" sold another 197,500 copies in the week ending April 13 to hold off the Spice Girls yet again, and to stay atop the chart for the third week.

Biggie's double CD has now sold 1.2 million copies in a mere three weeks.

Biggie isn't the only artist to hold a chart position as very little will change in the top ten with the arrival of next week's chart. In fact, the most notable chart activity may come with the debut of the Chemical Brothers' latest, "Dig Your Own Hole," at number 14.

The chart position is the highest for a new album this week, and is unprecedented for a techno act.
