Puffy Tribute To Biggie To Debut In Cross Country Simulcast

May 13 [7:55 EST] -- Puffy Combs' double-sided tribute single [Puffy Video, 600k QuickTime] honoring the late Notorious B.I.G. will make its debut in a simultaneous broadcast that unites more than 200 radio and video outlets.

The broadcast is set for noon on Wednesday, and will be carried on radio stations across the country as well as on MTV. The radio debut will be followed by 30 seconds of airwave silence.

As we reported last week, the single contains two songs: "We'll Always Love You Big Papa" by a new act called "The Lox" (which turned up on Biggie's posthumous album, "Life After Death"), and "I'll Be Missing You" which is actually a sampled recreation of the old Police hit "Every Breath You Take").

"I'll Be Missing You" features Biggie friends like Puffy and Biggie's widow Faith Evans, who will also turn up in the song's video, which was shot in New York City in late April.

At the video shoot, Puffy told MTV

News why he found the Police hit to be an unlikely source of inspiration.

Combs told MTV News. "I was just watching MTV, just being around the house, and that song came on, and it just made me feel a certain way." [Puffy Speaks, 1.1MB QuickTime]
