D&D Studios in Midtown Manhattan has been the birthplace for hit tracks from the likes of Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and the Lost Boyz, and now the studio is reaching into its vaults for a heavy duty hip-hop compilation.

On August 30th, the studio's newly-formed D&D Records label will release "Best of D&D Studios, Hip Hop Volume 1," which pulls together tracks from the aforementioned artists as well as Nas, KRS-One, Jeru The Damaja, and others.

Among its cuts, the collection includes Jay-Z's "Ain't No Nigga," Notorious B.I.G.'s "Unbelievable," and the Lost Boyz' "Jeeps, Lex, Coups, Bimaz, and Benz." Also featured are some underground favorites including "New York State Of Mind" from Nas, and KRS-One's "MC's Act Like They Don't Know." Group Home, M.O.P., Black Moon, and Showbiz & AG also kick in tracks. A new cut called "Ghetto Like D&D" comes from the D&D Crew which includes Krumbsnatcha, Tef, QNC, Starang Wondah, Afu-Ra, Fat Cat Kareem, and Jane Blaze.
