A possible theatrical disaster was narrowly averted in Stratton, Vermont last Saturday where Fat Joe, Big Punisher, and the Terror Squad performed at the 17th annual U.S. Open of Snowboarding.
The crowd was moshing away to Big Pun's "Still Not A Player" when Fat Joe urged those up front to prepare to catch the very accurately named rapper in a stage dive. In the end, it didn't happen, and those fans gathered down front managed to make it through that rather fearful moment and enjoy the rest of the hour and half long concert.
The concert, sponsored by the urban lifestyle publication "Fridge" magazine and Burton Snowboards, was staged after half pipe portion of the weekend's snowboarding competition and drew some 5,000 fans.
It's estimated that 25,000 snowboarding aficionados headed to Stratton Mountain over the weekend of March 18 through the 21 to see who would take home the Open's $150,000 purse.
