Neil Young, Wyclef Jean To Be Honored By Beck, Stevie Wonder At Rock The Vote Awards

Rocker Neil Young and rapper Wyclef Jean have been named the 1999 recipients of Rock the Vote's sixth annual Patrick Lippert Awards, named for Rock the Vote's original executive director, who died of AIDS in 1993.

Young, who was cited for his work with Farm Aid and his annual Bridge School benefits, will receive his award from Beck at the formal ceremony being held in Los Angeles' House of Blues on February 23.

Stevie Wonder will be on-hand to present the award to Wyclef in recognition of the Fugees frontman's foundation, which donates musical therapy, instruments and lessons to underprivileged children. Jean and the rest of his Refugee All-Stars are also slated to perform at the evening's accompanying fundraiser, which will be sponsored by MTV.
