Diana Tribute Show Off To A Slow Start

Britain's PA News reports that Elton John has already sent his regrets-he's already scheduled to perform in Sweden that night-as has Eric Clapton, who will be touring the States at the time. Both Paul McCartney and George Michael have also declined the invitation because of unspecified prior commitments. And Cliff Richard, says the service, hasn't said yes, either. He's apparently holding off to see how the show shapes up.

The news service reports that the organizers are still confident that the roster will shape up quite nicely by the time the program is unveiled February 27. The event, which will feature rock, pop and classical entertainment, is expected to draw roughly 15,000 people. The proceeds will go to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
