The Beastie Boys, Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead, and Pearl Jam are among the artists that have contributed personalized and signed items to an online auction benefiting the Milarepa Fund, the organization behind the Tibetan Freedom Concerts. The auction will be open until May 28 via a special Milarepa website and items up for bid include: a promotional "OK Computer" poster signed by Radiohead, a platinum certification for Rage Against The Machine's "Evil Empire," and a copy of the Beastie Boys' "Skills to Pay the Bills" home video signed by Nathaniel Hornblower, the nom-de-plume used by Adam Yauch when he directs videos. Signed merchandise from Live, Mike Myers, Jane's Addiction, and Pearl Jam round out the auction, and so far the prices are in the range of $250 and below. The auction is expected to heat up in the next few weeks, however, as prices tend to take a dramatic upswing in the final days (and hours) of bidding. Proceeds from the auction will be
donated to the Milarepa Funds, which seeks to heighten awareness about human rights abuses in Tibet as well as promote universal compassion and non-violence.For more information on the benefit event, including pictures and descriptions of all the items available, be sure to click over to the Milarepa Auction site http://auction.milarepa.org/.
