Once again, Neil Young has put together a star-studded lineup for his annual Bridge School Benefit Concert.Returning to the Bridge are repeat performers Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkin members Billy Corgan and James Iha, and Young's sometime bandmates Crosby, Stills & Nash. Playing the show for the first time will be Sheryl Crow, Green Day, Lucinda Williams, and former Beach Boy Brian Wilson. The concert will take place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in San Francisco, California on October 30 and 31. Tickets go on sale Sunday, September 12, 10:00 a.m. (PDT) through Bass Tickets. For more information, check out the venue's Web site at www.shoreline-amd.com. The annual concert benefits the Bridge School, which was co-founded by Young's wife, Pegi Young. The school's programs are aimed at enabling physically challenged, severely speech-impaired children to achieve full participation in their communities through the use of assistive technology and the development of
various types of educational strategies. The Bridge School benefit traditionally features all-acoustic sets and often sees unique onstage collaborations. Some of the highlights of recent years include such unusual spectacles as Sonic Youth and Ministry each performing rare "unplugged" sets, Marilyn Manson and Twiggy Ramirez teaming with the Smashing Pumpkins, and Neil Young jamming with Phish.
