Orgy Talks About Trading Family Values For Love And Rockets

What do pimp rockers Korn have in common with goth rockers Love And Rockets?

Perhaps the one and only answer to that question is Orgy, the new wave-inspired hard rock outfit who opened Korn’s Family Values tour last year and will open Love And Rockets upcoming spring tour.

With the exception of the involvement of Ticketmaster and the presence of roadies, Orgy may be the only element of last year’s hard-hitting Family Values tour (which boasted Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube, Rammstein, and the aforementioned Korn) turning up on the Love And Rockets tour.

“It’s gonna be a lot different because, it’s smaller venues and whatnot,” Orgy frontman Jay Gordon offered in anticipation of the upcoming tour. “And Jonathan (Davis, Korn vocalist) and Munky (Korn guitarist), and Fieldy (Korn bassist) and Fred (Durst) from Limp (Bizkit)…those guys are like your next door neighbors, like your friends, your
buddies, you know? We know who (Love And Rockets singer) Daniel Ash is, but he has no idea who we are. You know what I mean?”

“Well, we didn’t know Rammstein,” Orgy guitarist Amir Derakh added.

“We didn’t know Rammstein either,” Gordon said. “We got along with them. We destroyed quite a few dressing rooms, actually, together.”

“I think we’ll, it’ll still be the same Orgy on tour,” guitarist Ryan Shuck noted.

“We’re gonna have a good time, either way, you know,” [28.8 RealVideo] Gordon said. “We’re going out to have fun and, you know, destroy your town.”

“I think it will be funner to play more small places too,” Shuck added. “You know, playing big places is fun, but I think smaller places will be really cool too, you know, it’s a different vibe.”

Orgy will hook into that vibe in March when
they hi the road with Love And Rockets. Before that, you can catch Orgy’s first video, “Blue Monday,” in MTV’s buzz bin, and you can catch more from our interview with them in a feature that will turn up right here on Wednesday.
