Cypress Hill, Erykah Badu, Foxy Brown Join Smokin' Grooves Tour

April 8 [10:00 EST] -- Last year's Smokin' Grooves tour, mounted by the House Of Blues nightclub chain, sought to answer the question of whether or not a full-scale hip-hop revue could be a viable commercial proposition. The answer appears to be "yes", because "Smokin' Grooves" is back.

Cypress Hill will return to headline this summer's incarnation of the tour, along with Erykah Badu, love-goddess Foxy Brown, funk pioneer George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, and the Roots. Also turning up for some dates will be the Pharcyde, the Brand New Heavies, and Outkast.

Smokin' Grooves '97 will get underway on June 30 at Great Woods in Boston.
