Cole, Missy, Badu Bound For Lilith, Alana Davis Headed For H.O.R.D.E.

Recent Grammy winners Paula Cole and Shawn Colvin will be among the performers returning to the Lilith Fair when it rolls out again this summer.

Cole and Colvin will join fellow Lilith vets Sheryl Crow, the Indigo Girls, Natalie Merchant, and founder Sarah McLachlan. Newcomers on this year's outing will include Missy Elliott, Erykah Badu and Sinead O'Connor.

Speaking about what fans should expect when she returns to Lilith this summer, Cole, who picked up Best New Artist honors at this year's Grammys, said, "I never try to replicate the record live. It's totally different, and I'm really proud of the live show and sometimes, a monster does come out. Sometimes I get angry and destroy microphones and sometimes it's very tender and introspective.

McLachlan, Badu, O'Connor, the Indigo Girls and Merchant will be on the bill when the tour kicks off on June 19 in Portland, Oregon. Colvin will then join the tour a week later for shows in Los Angeles and San Diego.

One female folk-rocker who will not be on this year's Lilith Fair tour is Alana Davis, who has signed on to join Blues Traveler, Ben Harper and Bare Naked Ladies on this summer's H.O.R.D.E. tour (see [article id="1426261"]"UPDATE: John Popper Talks About H.O.R.D.E. '98"[/article]).
