The Backstreet Boys, who have a date with the stage at this week's Video Music Awards, got into Los Angeles a few days early and plan on making the most of it.
The Boys are planning a party Tuesday evening at an undisclosed location in L.A. to celebrate the fact that their breakthrough album, "Backstreet Boys," has reached sextuple platinum status in the U.S. by selling more than six million copies. Added to the band's global total, that means the Boys have sold more than 22 million copies of the self-titled album worldwide.
The U.S. group's homeland success comes as the last leg of a world-domination plan that first swept through Canada and Europe.
While in Los Angeles, the Boys will be turning in an appearance at Thursday's MTV Video Music Awards, where they are up for Best Group Video and Best Dance Video. The Boys join Hole, the Beastie Boys, Madonna, Master P, Marilyn Manson, the Dave Matthews Band, and the Brian Setzer Orchestra on the night's list of performers.
After the show, the Boys will return to the road, and here's where you can catch them:

- 9/14 - Allegan, MI @ Allegan County Fair
- 9/15 - York, PA @ York Inter-State Fair
