Grammy Awards Still Special To Babyface

Jan. 17 [16:00 EST] -- You might think that the sheer brute force of 12 nominations has numbed Grammy monster Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds about the weight of an award. The multi-talented producer, singer, songwriter, and musician has always maintained that awards don't mean much to him, even last year when he won a Grammy for best producer.

But this year, among the basketful of nominations he's received, there are a couple he seems actually excited about.

"There were a couple other special things not just the 'volume,' but it's the first time I've been nominated for record of the year, and also song of the year. Not just R n' B song, but Song of the Year, and Album of the Year as well as a Soul Producer on Album of the Year. I think another cool part about is that the artists that I worked with on the 'Exhale' project, how many of them were nominated. That's cool to know that you're part of something that helped somebody else get nominations," Babyface said.

Come spring, Babyface will be going back in the studio with Madonna, who he collaborated with on the hit single "Take A Bow," to cook up some more tracks.
