Babyface Does Sundance

Paltrow, opening at the end of the month in an updated version of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations," kicked off Sundance '98 starring in "Sliding Doors," one of the few of the 103 films playing at the festival that have distribution deals.

Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, whose first film production with his wife Tracy was "Soul Food," will be showing his next, "Hav' Plenty," a tale of budding attraction between two friends, starring Chenoa Maxwell as a girl called Haviland "Hav'" Savage and writer-director Christopher Chero as Lee "Plenty." There are cameos by Lauryn Hill of The Fugees, Chili of TLC, and Nia Long from "Soul Food."
