The B-52's, the original post-punk funtime band, will reunite for a summer tour with the Pretenders.

The two month outing will feature the B-52's line-up of Fred Schneider on vocals, Keith Strickland on guitar, and both Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson on keyboards and vocals. That formation of B-52's was behind 1989's "Cosmic Thing," an album which earned the band its highest chart position ever and spawned a pair of Top 5 hits in "Love Shack" and "Roam.

The group will be hitting the road to support a new greatest hits package, "Time Capsule: Songs For A Future Generation," which will include two new songs: "Hallucinating Pluto" and "Debbie." A spokesperson for the B-52's said that a video was going to be shot for "Debbie," but that the band had not yet settled on a director.

The B-52's played a reunion show last October in its hometown of Athens, Georgia, and the audience reception to that performance helped inspire the band to consider a long term tour.
