Dave Navarro Says Apple Lured Jane's To KROQ Show

December 3 [7:55 EDT] -- Jane's Addiction has been making its way across America since Halloween [Jane's Addiction Live, 500k QuickTime or 600k Audio File], so why would the band tack another date onto their itinerary with a stop at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles?

The answer: Fiona Apple.

"That was something I kind of didn't want to do, like the KROQ Acoustic Christmas," Jane's guitarist Dave Navarro told MTV News recently. "I kind of felt like we were playing L.A., we got to party, we got two shows... it's all southern California, why do another L.A. date? But then I learned that Fiona Apple would be performing, so that to me is the hot spot of the tour" [800k QuickTime].

That's high praise considering that the recently reformed band has been selling out venues in the blink of an eye on its current tour, which

recently included a headlining spot on Jane's frontman Perry Farrell's annual ENIT get-together in San Francisco (see ENIT Happens in the MTV News Gallery.)

As we first reported last week, Jane's will join Ms. Apple as well as Chumbawamba, Sarah McLachlan, Jamiroquai, David Bowie, and a host of others this Friday at the annual KROQ show at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles.
