Fiona Apple Gets "Limp" In New Video

With plans for a North American tour in the works and her second album, "When The Pawn...," enjoying its share of year-end accolades, singer-songwriter Fiona Apple is now readying the release of a new single and video.

Apple recently shot the elaborate clip for "Limp" with her boyfriend, "Magnolia" and "Boogie Nights" director Paul Thomas Anderson, who also directed the videos for Apple's "Fast As You Can" and her cover of "Across The Universe." The singer talked with MTV News' Chris Connelly late last year about how video-making process has become more bearable for her with Anderson behind the camera.

"I don't have to say no to anybody. I can do whatever I want. I can wear whatever I want. I can not wear makeup if I don't want to," Apple told Connelly. "I can have input to what the videos are [about], and all the guys that work on the videos are the guys that have worked on [Anderson's]

movies, who I've been hanging out with the past two years, so everyone's my friend."

"It's a really fun experience now," she continued, "rather than, like, this rushed thing, like, 'Oh, I'm on the road, I'm gonna come back, I'm gonna do this, it's gonna be a day and a half, okay...' and have no idea what's going on. It's really cool now, because I've got this, like, inside thing. I can know, 'I'm gonna need a video for this,' 'Let's think about this,' 'What do we wanna do for the next one,' you know? It's fun." Apple's video for "Limp" should debut on MTV sometime next month, and her tour will kick off February 24 in Wallingford, Connecticut (see "Fiona Apple To Launch North American Trek").
