Anthrax And Sebastian Bach Swap Guitarists

While former frontman Joey Belladonna is not on board as originally planned, the men of Anthrax are still boasting a beefed up line-up on their current U.S. tour.

The band will add the talents of Skid Row guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo to its stage show beginning next week in Seattle. Since the tour kicked off last month, Anthrax has been beefing up guitarist Scott Ian's sound with the help of second guitarist Paul Crook (who also co-produced the band's 1998 album "Volume 8").

Ironically, Crook will soon leave the Anthrax tour to play with former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach on a solo tour that begins on February 8. Bach split from his Skid Row mates on less than amicable terms in 1997 and released his first solo effort, "Bring 'Em Bach Alive," late last year (see Sebastian Bach Launches Solo Effort"). Bach played a string of dates in support of the album in December and will launch a second leg of dates with Crook

in Pittsburgh (a full itinerary follows this story).

Meanwhile, Sabo will join Anthrax for the last eight dates of that band's U.S. tour in support of its "Return of the Killer A's" greatest hits set. The CD hit stores in November of last year, and the band planned to tour behind it with both current vocalist John Bush and former frontman Joey Belladonna. However, last month Belladonna bailed on the tour with Anthrax's camp citing an "inability to come to a financial agreement" with the singer as the reason for split (see "Belladonna Bails On Anthrax Tour As Bush Prepares New Armored Saint Album").
