Radio, MTV To Honor Tori Amos' RAINN

May 15 [12:00 EST] -- On Friday at noon Eastern and Pacific time, MTV will join radio stations across the country in playing Tori Amos' "Silent All These Years" to mark "RAINN Day."

Last month Congress earmarked May 16 as a day to honor Amos for founding the Rape Abuse and Incest National Network.

Founded three years ago, it's America's only 24-hour hotline for survivors of sexual assault, and Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill applauded Amos for running RAINN with private funding from her record label, rather than using public funding from the government.

The RAINN hotline can be reached at 1-800-656-H-O-P-E or online at rainn.org.

The video for "Silent All These Years" will be followed immediately on Friday by "Fight Back," MTV's 1995 news special on surviving sexual assault.
