June 23 [12:00 EDT] -- Billboard reports that Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are recording a new project with Seattle producer Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies, Bush) at the console.

The producer's chair has traditionally been Page's territory. The guitarist guided his old band Led Zeppelin (featuring singer Plant) through some monumental studio achievements, and also handled most of the production on the last Page/Plant album, "No Quarter: Jimmy Page & Robert Plant Unledded", released in late 1994.

This second collaboration is due early next year on Atlantic. Plant told Billboard they're already on a roll‹they recorded two songs the first day. The report says that Charlie Jones is playing bass and Michael Lee is contributing drums.
