Afghan Whigs frontman Greg Dulli has not one but two roles in the new independent movie, "Monument Ave.," directed by Ted Demme.
Dulli plays both a thug and a drug-dealer, according to "Billboard." The film, starring Denis Leary, Martin Sheen and Billy Crudup, traces the lives of an extended Boston-based Irish-American family. It arrives in U.S. theaters on September 25.
Dulli's side band The Twilight Singers, with Howlin' Maggie's Harold ("Happy") Chichester and Shawn Smith of Satchel and Pigeonhed, also has four songs on the film's soundtrack.
Director Demme is the original producer of MTV's Yo MTV Raps, as well as being the nephew of famed director Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia etc).
The Afghan Whigs release a new album, "1965," on October 20 and start touring the U.S. in November.
