Fresh off "Hustlin' Daze," their collaboration on Jazzmatazz: Street Soul, Gang Starr's Guru and DJ Premier plan to take to the slopes in Killington, Vermont, next month to headline the third annual Brooklyn, Vermont, urban-style and snowboarding festival.
The three-day "BKVT" event is scheduled for January 19-21 at Killington Resort, and will include performances by Tony Touch, the Beatminerz' DJ Evil Dee and turntablist crew the 5th Platoon, according to organizers at Fridge magazine.
Gang Starr will play at the fest's Hip-Hop Lounge January 21, with supporting acts to be announced. Artists who have braved the cooler climates of previous Brooklyn, Vermont, fests include Eminem, GZA, Black Star and Pharoahe Monch.
The event will also feature professional snowboarding demonstrations and an exhibition of urban and sports fashion.
Guru wrapped a stint on the Roots' Okayplayer tour in November, and has tentative plans to mount a spring European tour in support of Street Soul, which is the third in the "Jazzmatazz" series.
In an interview with the rapper posted on Gang Starr's official web site, Guru said he and DJ Premier will likely head into the studio in the summer to cut the followup to 1998's Moment of Truth.
