emerge from the much-hyped but little-heard alternative country movement. So it wouldn't have surprised me at all if front man/songwriter
Ryan Adams had stumbled a bit on the group's sophomore effort. What did surprise me is that the band's new album, Strangers Almanac so
completely bests its predecessor and that Adams' songwriting has improved so dramatically, so quickly.
